Alesia Gale Hurst Obituary (1956 - 2021)

Alesia Gale Hurst, affectionately known as "Lisha Gale", was born March 10, 1956 in Galveston, Texas to the late William and Ruth Hurst. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Merchant, Sr. and Fredrick Hurst; a grandson, Diajwan Triplett and other loved ones. During Lisha Gale's early years, she was raised and lived in the Hitchcock community. She received her former education at Hitchcock High School and College of the Mainland. In 1978, she became the first black woman operator for Monsanto Chemical Company. Alesia was a loving and caring person who cherished her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her community friends. In her spare time, she loved to dance and fish. On Thursday, July 29, 2021, she concluded her journey in this life. Lisha Gale shall be missed but never forgotten. Alesia Gale Hurst leaves to cherish her precious memories: her lifetime partner, Lynn Fears; one son, Wayland (Diana) Hurst; three daughters, Roshawnda (Grover) Hart, Alesia Fear, Eunique Hurst (C. L.); 16 grandchildren, Adrian Hurst, Anthony Holmes, Coresha Johnson, Dionna Holmes, Jahori Johnson, Davion (Kaci) Hurst, Tai'la Hart, Wayland Hurst, Jr., Grover Hart, Jr., Dawayland Hurst, Ghe'Milian Hart, Dawaysha Hurst, Datrick Walker, Daren Hurst, Daxton Walker and Reganique Hurst; 24 great-grandchildren; a lifelong friend, Vince and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A public visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of her life beginning at 11:00 a.m. Both events will take place at the chapel of Bay Area Funeral Directors, 5410 FM 1765 (facing Highway 3) in Texas City, TX 77591. 409-933-4300.
