With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Anita Faye Bangura-Taylor, affectionately known as “Nita Faye,” who departed this life on August 12, 2026, at the age of 69.

Anita was born on December 27, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Clarence T. Davis Sr. and Alice Brookins Davis. She was raised in Galveston, Texas, where she spent her formative years, created lifelong memories, and developed the strong personality that would remain a defining part of who she was.

Nita Faye attended Ball High School and was part of the Class of 1975. Her high school years were an important part of her journey, filled with friendships, experiences, and memories that became part of the woman she would grow to be.

Those who knew Nita Faye knew that she had a personality that could never be overlooked. She was funny, generous, outspoken, and loving.

She later made her home in Texas City, Texas, where she built a life centered around family, faith, friendship, and love.

Nita Faye cherished her faith and found comfort and fellowship through her church. She attended Sunlight Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worship and being part of the church community. Her faith was an important part of her life and provided her with strength, comfort, and connection throughout her journey.

She married Emanuel Taylor on November 14, 2015. Together, they shared a life filled with memories, family, and love.

Nita Faye found joy in going to church, cooking, arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends. She had a generous spirit and enjoyed being surrounded by the people she loved. Cooking was one of the ways she expressed that love, bringing people together around food, conversation, and fellowship.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Emanuel Taylor; her children, Broderick D. Davis Sr. and LaQuisha A. Bangura; her grandchildren, Mariya Rowe, Brittany, Breyana, Broderick Davis Jr., and Brinyah Davis; and her surviving sisters, Betty Jean Jenkins (Jimmy) of Texas City, Texas; Evelyn Joyce Davis of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Sylvia Davis and Cathy Davis of Corpus Christi, Texas.
