Aubrey Jane Young Obituary (1945 - 2023)

Aubrey Jane Young, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 and went into her Heavenly Father's arms for her eternal rest. Aubrey's earthly journey began on January 29, 1945 in Jeanerette, La. Iberia Parrish, where she at an early age learned the value of education and self-sufficiency from her family, whom owned businesses at a time which was rare during the Jim Crowe era. During her teenage years, Aubrey moved to Houston, Texas third ward in the mid 50's, where she attended her first years of high school at Jack Yates High School and her last two years were completed at Booker T Washington High in Texas City, TX where she received her high school diploma. After her high school years she married and had three children, and worked for TCISD for a few years, then she began a 30 year career with Baybrook nursing home and Seabreeze nursing home as an office bookkeeper until she retired in 2016. Aubrey, is preceded in death by her father Edward Provost and mother Dorthy Lovette, brother Lawrence Edward Provost(TOT), husband Chris G Young, and grandson Shawn Young. She is survived by her sisters Daisy Williams and Betty Hightower, brother Dail Provost, daughters Joy L Young, Cheryl L Young, Kelly R Young, and countless nieces and nephews. Aubrey's family thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
