Barbara Foreman

Barbara Elaine Foreman, 66, of Norfolk, Virginia, a beacon of warmth and wisdom, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Houston, Texas.

Barbara journey began in Portsmouth Virginia the only child reared to Mae and John Matthews, on August 13, 1957. Barbara’s childhood was filled with the simple joys of the east coast, which laid the foundation for her nurturing spirt. After graduating from Granby High School in 1975, she pursued her passion for nursing. Barbara earned a degree in Nursing starting her career off at Hillhaven Rehabilitation Nursing Home in 1983 for 12 years, and finishing off her Nursing career at DePaul Medical Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia for another 14 years, She adored family time and playing Bingo and spades.

In 1975, Barbara’s heart found her counterpart in William Foreman at the age of 17. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, celebrated in a quaint ceremony with family and friends in attendance. Together, they raised three (3) children who was Barbara’s’ pride and joy.

Barbara Ann is preceded in death by her mother, Mae Nevilles Matthews, husband William Foreman and natal mother Virginia Bowser.

Barbara memories is honored by her father John Matthews, siblings, Charlotta Bowser and Romie Brown. She leaves also to cherish her memories her devoted children, Christal Taulman, (Jamie), Sharon Brown, (Andre) and William Foreman III along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Barbara Foreman life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived she touched, and the love she shared. Her children will forever cherish Barbara’s gumbo and other seafood dishes. Her famous home-made banana pudding blended with love. They will forever enjoy a good spades card game in her memory.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
