Mrs. Bobbie Jewel Grisby Obituary (1943 - 2022)

Bobbie Jewel Grisby,79, Houston, TX passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, December 6,2022 after a long fight with dementia. Bobbie was born on April 14, 1943 to Boyja and Hattie Meredith in Navasota, Texas. After graduating from George Washington Carver High School 1961, Bobbie moved to Houston, Texas to study psychology at Texas Southern University where she met the love of her life, James Walter Grisby. They were inseparable from the beginning. Bobbie and James were married over 50 years before he passed in 2017. After graduating from Texas Southern, Bobble landed a job at Forward Times where she became a reporter. In 1964, Bobbie had her first child, Dineilla. Seven years later, she gave birth to her son, James Jr. When Bobbie became a mother, she dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother. Family and God came first and was above all else to Bobbie, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Bobbie was predeceased by her father, mother, siblings and husband. She is survived by her children, Dineilla and James, Jr. and grandchildren, Keon, Kavonn, Keyonna, Ruel III and Kyra.
