John Jimenez Jr.

John Jimenez Jr passed away on June 9th. 2022 at the age of 75 years young. John passed away at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland here in Texas City.
John was born in Eagle Pass Texas and was the eldest of 12 children born to Juan and Esperanza Jimenez. Raised in a Catholic home, John graduated from George Washington High School in East Chicago, Indiana.
John was drafted into the United States Army in 1967 where he served in Germany. John was decorated with two ribbons while serving in the Army: (1) National Defense Service Medal (2) Sharp Shooter M_14 and was promoted from PFC (Private First Class) to E-3.
After being Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army on October 2, 1969, John returned home to East Chicago where he worked in the steel mill.
Later, John moved to Texas and is survived by his son, Michael John Jimenez.
Funeral services will be held at Bay Area Funeral Directors in Texas City. The viewing is scheduled for Sunday, June 19,__ 2022 at 2:00 P.M. where service will follow. John's request was to be cremated, which will occur at a later date.
