Texas City, Texas
Phillip Zygmunt Joseph Rucinski was born in St. Clair, Michigan on July 9, 1950 and passed on May 30, 2022 in Clear Lake, Texas after a long battle with Frontal Temporal Lobe Dementia (FTD).
He grew up in Warren, Michigan in a home his family built themselves from wood harvested on their land. This instilled in him a love for wood working and building. In Houston he met a local business man, Bob Coale of Coale Roofing. Mr. Coale mentored him when he started his remodeling business, Square Business Builders. After 30 years he retired, his wife Mickey took over and merged SBB with her interior design business, MMR Design LLC. She still works for some of the same customers and their families today that started with Phil decades ago, including the Coale family. In his spare time Phil enjoyed fishing and traveling. He always wanted to retire on Galveston island and own a sailboat. Unfortunately that dream was never realized, there are so many places he wanted to go but will never get to see.
Phil is survived by his wife Michelle Rucinski (Riedel) daughter Krystn Davis, son-in-law Richard Davis, grandsons Jordan and Wyatt Davis, siblings Audrey Ann Springfield and Christopher Rucinski and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was proceeded in death by his father Zygmunt Joseph Rucinski, mother Florence Theresa Rucinski (Pieprzak), sisters Mary Jo Nawrot and Florence Faye Perez, and brothers Robert Roy Rucinski and Richard Ray Rucinski and nephew Richard Ray Rucinski II. The family will host a private celebration of life in Texas and a second celebration of life on July 16th from 1-4pm at
