Roland Hennigan

Roland Hennigan, 69, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 in Galveston, Texas.

Roland was born on May 23, 1954 in Hearne, Texas to Otis Hennigan, Sr. and Lemmie Lee Hennigan. He was employed at UTMB (formerly St Mary's Hospital) for 45 years. Roland was known for his kind and giving nature, his strong work ethic and his love for the Dallas Cowboys.

Roland had a strong faith and sense of family. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Rodney Strickland (Laura), Noah K Hennigan and Durrell Singleton; one daughter, DeShundra Singleton; grandchildren, Tiara Strickland, Mattie Strickland, Rodney Strickland, Jr., Nalii Strickland, Jason Cardin, Jr., Angel Brown, Alanicesia Vanhorne, Kolby Strickland, Azelyn Singleton and Adrian Toombs; three brothers, James Hennigan (Pamela), Charles Hennigan and Aubrey Hennigan (Natalie); three sisters, Erma Faye Smith (Roy), Lou Young (Nathan) and Zenobia Hennigan and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Roland was predeceased by his parents, five siblings, Otis Hennigan, Jr., Raymond Hennigan, Sr., Frank Hennigan, Clayton Hennigan and Elizabeth Payton and daughter, Tamara Singleton.

A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the celebration of Roland's life at 11:00 am. Both events will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the chapel of Bay Area Funeral Directors, located at 5410 FM 1765 (facing Hwy 3) in Texas City 77591. 409-933-4300.
