William "Big Small" Small

William Small was born on (February 22, 1932) in (Mansfield, LA) to (James Small and Pearlie Thomas)
and passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on Saturday, April 8 th , 2023.

William was a very kind and gentle man that was well respected in the community. He worked as a
longshoreman for 32 years providing for his family which he loved dearly. William united with Mount
Paran Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City under the leadership of Pastor Sham Johnson. He became
a deacon under Pastor Johnson during his times of service and remained there until his health declined
and could no longer be of service.

He loved gardening and prior to the death of his wife, Annie Bell, he loved taking her to garage sales and
antique shops around the state. William's most favorite pastimes were serving at the church, helping
others in the community, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Preceding William are his parents, his wife, Annie Bell Small; two daughters, Annie Marie Williams and
Martha Wooldridge; siblings, Willie Small, Ida Thomas and Mabel Thomas.

Left to cherish life long memories are his sons, Troy Small and Anthony Small; sibling Lula Mae Thomas
ten Grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memories with his long
time family friends: Sonia Small, Darryl Stredic, Dennice Small, Olivia McCutchen, Evette Johnson and
Zeffery Avie as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.
